Weather Calamaties

What does it take for me to not watch NASCAR qualifying?

A flood.

A flood that obliterates a guy's yard (house is adjacent to my apartment complex), has people being rescued from their cars (water up to the wheel well), has a small river just off my patio, and apparently, while no one could get out, flooded K&W Cafeteria to the point that they had to rescue people.

The real fun?

I went early to my mother's store this morning, and yep, major weather damage. Puddles in the floor, leaks on the ceiling, and buckling ceiling tiles. Whee!

And her landlord is out of town.

It flooded K&W? Eek.

Need any help? My only other alternative today is to clean the living room in search of buried bills.

K&W made the news with theirs (mainly because "customers got trapped, oh noes!" - the equivalent of little old people having to wade to their cars). Funny part was when Neil McNeill started talking about how K&W was located (if his memory served him correctly) south/southwest of Asheboro on 220 down in a holler (although he didn't use "holler"). Neil has SO been there to eat.

According to the cops, right at my apartment complex was the second worst area, with Holly St. being worse with the flooding. All because a creek went nuts.

Luckily the puddles at mom's store cleaned up pretty easily. I got here early to take care of it. The fun part is the ceiling. I went around and marked all the leaks, because I have a feeling by the time the landlord comes around (next week) it'll be impossible to tell where they were (except for the nasty one). I'm worried about the next few days, though. The weather isn't supposed to play nice this week.

Holy crap. I just discovered some product hanging on the wall that had an open top...and it's half full of water. And it *totally* didn't come that way.

Flooding - we don't GET that in Asheboro. Heck, I've lived here all my life, and flooding on this scale doesn't happen. Dang 5-6 inches of rain in three hours. *grumbles*

Plus I had a Jeff Gordon hitting on me dream. That was supposed to be your dream. Cause I just woke up icked out. *g*

The bad stuff with mom's store comes from the fact that my parents left yesterday for 2 weeks in Ireland. *headdesk*
