I'm alive! Sad to say, yesterday was a hell day. Busy all over the place, and some of it my own doing. (10 hour car trips require music, so CDs are being produced and...well, that took up a good portion of my afternoon LOL).

Sunday was a blast. NASCAR and [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid. *squee* Continuous snark over the course of about 6 hours is so. much. fun. And we know how to make *everything* about NASCAR dirty. *snicker*

Dear Jamie McMurray,

While those shorts would make a nice dress (really, the fabric was lovely for a WOMAN), on you they just look mightily dorky. And let's talk about the hair. You are not Ellyut. Cut it!

Dear Kyle Petty,

You are seriously up there with Derrick Cope on the "gotta love em cause they're so not a contender" list. 17th! You finished 17th! Okay, so there were like 20 cars left in the race, but yay!!!!

Dear Kenny Wallace,

God I love your spastic ass.

Someone please explain to me why, with the exception of about two songs, every single one was an 80s power ballad?

1. Nikko - Dude! Stevie! No surprise that someone is singing Stevie, but for once I bought that they were as *good* as Stevie. Pitchy in spots, but that could be nerves. I like this kid. (Yep, voted for him in my rotation of 6 guys to vote for. Voted 10 times - I got on a roll of getting through.)

2. Scott - I liked the song choice. *pouts* The judges don't appreciate the power ballad, man. I thought he sounded great, and I think this was the first time they declared pitchy and I was confused. I heard no pitch issues. (Vote count - 4 times.)

3. Anthony - Eh. Sad to say, but Richard Marx is much better. Boy was off key. No votes from me!

4. Beau - *hugs her rocker boy and doesn't let him go* Dear blessed Beau. OMG. He may not be the most charismatic, but he's a rocker. He shouldn't be doing what the pop boys are doing. I so appreciate him and love him and...yeah, coming out of the first guy's night, he's my favorite. And as my mother said, he has a beautiful voice. And when she throws out that compliment, it means something (because she has a tin ear). (Vote count - 6 times. Notably, four of those happened just before 10:00, when I was finally able to get through. Yep, Beau was the hardest to vote for. *dances*)

5. Travis - So pretty. So bland. *snore* Wait...what? There was singing? Bye bye Travis.

6. Constantine - Out of love and respect for [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger, all I'll say is...I wanted Seal. Not a clubbed Seal though. *g* *hugs the dragongirl*

7. David - You know, we all know he's better than that. It took half the song to get going, and the first part was too low. But you know what? I don't want to see him go yet. He's already proved to be better than Travis and Anthony. So I voted for him, just because I don't want to have to sit through another round of "Hold on to theeee..." my ears!!!! (Vote count - 20 times. *g* Well, I got on a roll of getting through.)

8. Jared - You know, he is going to go fast because he's so forgettable. Poor boy. His song started out with subtlety, but it never got going, so it felt...bland. He sounded pretty at the beginning. Just...bland.

9. Anwar - His song choice was impeccable. His personality is a little too Latoya London for me (meaning he's just a wee too mellow), but he's got great tone and knows songs much better than Latoya did. He didn't get pitchy just holding a note. It was beautiful. (Vote count - 3.)

10. Judd - Okay, last week I said I liked him. He's okay. He's not the best singer of the bunch, but he knows how to pick songs that are very involving. Heck, he was one of three guys to choose an upbeat song (okay, four if we count Nikko). He ensured himself a spot by choosing what works for him. In a way, I'd say he takes JPLs successes from last year, adds actually singing ability and enunciation (and rhythm - he's a dancer!), and capitalizes on where JPL failed.

11. Joseph - He sang the song well...but what ist he deal with sounding exactly like the original artist? Where's the originality? They've all been doing that tonight.

12. Mario - Thank god he chose an upbeat song. Slightly off on the rhythm at one point, but you know, he stood out really well. He's a polished performer. My mother thinks he could win this because he's far more well rounded. *snicker* My mother forgets the American viewing public. Mario may come close to winning, but with American Idol, it's about finding someone to connect with. But, because I respect what he did, I voted for him. (Vote count - 3.)

I really think Travis is gone. Unfortunately, I also think Joseph or Jared will be the other casualty. They're just non-entities.

But my god, wee!Kasey surfing...he's not allowed to be hot. Just...no.

And I swear, dirtiest unintentional moment goes to He Who Can't Leave Dazed and Confused. You know it's bad when "Rubber on asphalt" starts to sound dirty.

It was so. damn. funny that WeeKasey somehow manages to be a natural at surfing, while Jamie kept falling in the water. Hee! (Kasey was blessed by the surfing gods with decent shorts. And the shirts...can NASCAR drivers who don't have potbellies wear those shirts as well?)

All the talk about "rubber" finally hit me mid-race too. LOL Good god. Can they stop with the inadvertant sexual inuendo?

Dirty moment #487...amidst all the really gross Levitra and Cialis commercials, realizing there were no Viagra commercials...and somehow there was the Mark Martin, driving his car, "look ma, no hands" bad porny thoughts. *snicker*

At least, according to your predictions, Constantine is still in the running. *LOL*

From: [identity profile] maveness.livejournal.com

I think he's already got enough built in fan support to be okay. For now. (The judges actually weren't critical of him at all, which was...weird. I'm still not sure was up with that, because generally, with the exception of one person, I was in total agreement with them. But then again, they were paying a *lot* of attention to Constantine's charisma.)

Anthony...he could feasibly get the boot too. Poor thing was horrible. He chose absolutely the wrong song and then killed it dead. Plus they kept plugging away at the Clay Aiken comparison, which is totally going to have the wrong effect.

From: [identity profile] dragonsinger.livejournal.com

True...he is very Clay Aiken.

Mmm..Constantine can charisma me anytime. Oh, sorry...mind out of gutter.

OMG! I just saw you randomly yesterday (I recognize your icon) while browsing through some Gerry sites, and now we have a friend in common?!?! weird ^___^

So how is this going to work? They're going to have 3 rounds of semi finals with ALL of them?

Hilariously, LaToya was HYPER AND PERKY when we met her! I don't know why none of that translated on stage, but she was sooooooo glassy eyed at the same time... could've been it.

he takes JPLs successes from last year, adds actually singing ability and enunciation (and rhythm - he's a dancer!), and capitalizes on where JPL failed.

So true. He's also ten times the singer JPL will ever be. This competition needs Judd. He's so much fun, and he's cute, and he's got a really cool voice. I agree with you about everyone else! =)

From: [identity profile] maveness.livejournal.com

Yep. *sigh* They're trying to kill us here. But for the next three weeks we get rid of two at a time.

Two by two, hands of blue. *dances* God bless Firefly for making me think evil Simon as overlord of some vast conspiracy.

Judd has probably the most unusual voice I've ever heard on any of the guys. Which rocks. The girls are known for having different tones, but it's nice to see a guy be different for once.
