Got my copy of the Smallville Magazine this weekend. *Squee!*

My parents and grandmother have now had the first issue shoved under their noses with me screeching "Look! That's CRAIG!" My mother was the only one actually looking through saying "where's his picture at?"

And my love for Tom Welling knows no bounds, because he *got* Pete. He adores Sam, and he got the character of Pete and understood his role on the show. *floves Tom* It's nice to know that the lead actor who had the most to do with this other character understood where he should have gone.

Amazingly at a local bookstore (I'm surprised in a way, because it's such a small town). It's not supposed to be out until tomorrow, but they had it out yesterday. In the Entertainment section of the magazines.

I had to look at my receipt (because I'm horrible at remembering the new bookstore's name), and it's Books-A-Million. A chain I do believe.

Ooh. Thanks! B-A-M has a store near me that I can probably get to this week.

I miss Pete. He would have been an interesting character to fully flesh out.

He so would have. He was my favorite of the secondary characters because he was so normal, and that normalcy is what kept Clark grounded. If they had understood that on the show, they could have incorporated him in such a way as to get Clark to becoming the Clark Kent who works at the Daily Planet. Everyone else is busy shaping Superman. Someone needs to shape Clark Kent.

I suppose TPTB never even saw that. I really don't know what's up with the casting, so I'm still holding out some small hope that Sam will be back. If not this season then next.

Have scary feeling that with Pete gone, Clark might just revert back to the "No one understands me!" angst muppet he brilliantly displayed in Season One.

Sam *might* come back in guesting status from time to time, from what I understand. But I don't think they *did* see the potential they had with Pete knowing. They'd nail it one minute, screw it up the next.

Although if Clark reverted back to angsty/mopey, this time it might work. Given the fact that the folks who do have been banished from his life.

It's unsettling that all of Clark's friends have been basically written off the show. And the two left are those he has a shaky relationship with at the moment. The kid has no one besides his parents, and really, what teenager discusses everything with their parents? Even if Pete comes back every once in awhile, it'll be good for Clark. Someone outside his parents that he could fully be himself around. Everyone needs that.
