Dear NASCAR,

You need AJ Allmendinger to do well. You need him to be in a car full time. And not just because I love him so. It's because he can be THE personality that would keep late night hosts in stitches.

On Skinner replacing him in the 84 car for a while:

AJ Allmendinger, #84 Red Bull Driver said: “Let’s not kid ourselves; I’m a racer and I want to be racing, but I get the big picture here and obviously we need to improve our program. Do I want to be out of the car? No. But, I know Skinner can help both me and my team. All I can say is he better be prepared for me to eat, drink, and sleep with him. Ok, well maybe not the sleeping part, but I’m ready to attach myself to him and learn everything I can.”

Mike Skinner, Substitute #84 Driver: “The first time I ever met AJ, I took an immediate liking to him. He’s not just a great personality; he also has a remarkable amount of talent. He took on a huge challenge jumping into stock cars last year, and I’m glad I can be the one to help him and his team figure out where the glitches are in their program. This is a positive thing for AJ as a learning experience, for the Red Bull Racing Team to get back on track, and for me to have the opportunity to help another Toyota team that has great equipment and potential.”

Fandoms That Should Collide

Let's see, after conversation between [livejournal.com profile] deifire, [livejournal.com profile] vily and myself, here's the rundown on fandoms we want to see a collision between.

Supernatural
Sarah Connor Chronicles
Knight Rider
X-Files

Quite frankly, Supernatural and Sarah Connor Chronicles are at the top of the list for me. Because I want Ellison and Henrickson to have been at Quantico at the same time, and an exploration of how their career paths differed so (with Ellison getting more of a path to glory and Henrickson getting more grunt work). Then you throw in Agent Ruvai from Knight Rider (plus, you know, KITT v. Skynet totally is where it's at). At this point, throw in Mulder and Scully for some serious whackado fun.

Prince Harry

Anyone else amused that the guys he served with in Afghanistan called him "Bullet Magnet"? Just me?

***

NASCAR

So the whole "leaving the cap off" thing that Edwards' team did is actually really, really beneficial? Huh. I thought it was just an amusing thing that they missed. I didn't realize it was actually big time cheating.

American Idol

So, of the current crop, we have one drunk driving arrest (Amanda), one picture online grabbing a coworker's boob (Ramiele) and one stripper who went fully nude (David Hernandez). So...who gets the Frenchie treatment and who gets to be all Antonella? My money is on Ramiele not getting dinged (her picture is tamer than anything Antonella did). Amanda won't get dinged either, because there's been a history on the arrest thing for a while. David H. is possibly the only one who'll get dinged.

Oh [livejournal.com profile] medie...please to be holding me back from laying the smackdown in this thread. Look! It's tons of people up in arms over the killing of baby seals!

*tears out hair*

I'm being nice at the moment with one person who is grossly misinformed (and doesn't want to believe) when it comes to baby seals. Because you know, just because there are laws doesn't mean the government doesn't look the other way. Seriously. This is the argument. I tried nicely saying "It's illegal and if they're caught they kind of get prosecuted." I tried "hunting seals is like hunting deer, they just look cuter, hence the drama". People are even pointing out that Heather Mills and Paul McCartney were being way shady with that whole baby seal thing a few years ago (by the mother seal being held off camera so they could get a photo op with the mama). I've given the person the fact that clubbing sounds skeevy. If people want to protest that, I could understand. But the major misinformation is just annoying. I'm not even Canadian and I know better than some of these people!
