Pardon me while I squish the Vickers.

Work

The people at work are getting on my nerves. Each year at Christmas we do the Salvation Army Angel tree and adopt a child. Each year since my first year with the company we've done this. Because we give WAY too much (um, the first year we adopted one child and the stack of presents was as tall as the 6 foot tree in the lobby), we divide into groups. I've always divided people based on salary and who's annoying about getting things done. Basically, a partner (we have 4) ends up in each group (as they make the most) and we divide the men out equally (as they tend to be last minute with turning in gifts).

Well, this year, to shake things up and actually make things easier on people, I decided we'd do the Adopt A Senior instead. All we collect for those is money. Simple, right? Except my group? Which has five people (instead of 4 people like other groups)? Is mainly men. So far the only people who have given money are me and the partner in my group. The others are being lazy (they've indicated they'll give me money, just haven't handed anything over). It's driving me nuts, mainly because they keep saying they're going to write me a check. Note that the Salvation Army asked for gift cards to Lowes Foods OR cash. So I have to take the checks to the bank and cash them (making the guys write the checks to me).

If they don't feel they can give anything this year, fine. I'm cool with that. It's charity. It's not mandatory. But don't make promises and then have our group end up with $40 for a senior citizen when other groups are shelling out $100+.

Best random find of the day:

Video from the Tonight Show of Ross the Intern taking part in a pit crew.

My favorite part? Carl Edwards completely at a loss as to how to handle a man flirting with him. Hee!

NASCAR.com or Tonight Show for footage.
