Wanna know how much more boring today is at work than yesterday? I'm getting ready to watch a movie on my computer. Because it is THAT slow. And about a third of the office is here.
So RENT, here I come!

So something that just hit me...one thing that drives me bonkers about the kids on American Idol not connecting with the song is that it's such a fundamental. You don't make music for the sake of noise. If that's the purpose, then forgoe words and just scat, you know? It's about conveying an emotion, and inherent to the emotion are the words.
Well, it really bugs me when they have some background in musical theater and don't connect with the song correctly. This isn't the 60s with girl groups in glam dresses and men groups in their dapper suits that sing about heartache while smiling and doing choreography. It was an era when that worked, but that's not the style now. Well, not all the time.
This brought to you by the opening number of Rent, just because their standing in one spot and singing has more spark than all the kids this season. *sigh* And I like most of the kids!

Hee! Biffle pulled a prank!
Stewart certainly had reason to be jolly and willing to joke around after his strong qualifying run Friday, and it showed in his postrace press conference. He was talking about the run that placed him third on the grid when Greg Biffle, sitting directly to Stewart's right after qualifying second, interrupted and told Stewart he was now fourth on the charts. (Only the top three qualifiers are required to attend postrace media sessions.)
"Really?" Stewart asked before realizing Biffle was kidding. "I'll be honest – I'd be pissed if I came here and didn't have to be here."
(First, wasn't it on Thursday? Second, since when is post-qualifying the same thing as post-race?)
But hey, Biffle pulled a prank on Stewart! And a sly one at that.
