I look cute today in my retro-WWII era brown shirtdress. I did, however, discover that only my super-high heels can be worn with this dress, as the calf length hemline and flats immediately mean "holy frumpy mess Batman!" Seriously, I have never understood how wearing shorter heels immediately makes the lower half of my body look less balanced with the upper half of my body. I know, visual cues and all, but still!

American Idol
Oddly enough, this will be relatively short and sweet.
Kinnik will be gone tonight, as the painful sharpness made my ears bleed. Melissa will probably be the other one gone, even though her sharp and flat notes were fewer than the judges thought, but her performance (really, can some of the other females and males take note?) was astounding in how she gave it her all. She really attacks a song and goes for it. Paris made one of my childhood favorites different and unique, even if at times you wanted to scratch your head. Lisa, despite doing a vocally servicable job on the song, bored me to tears. It's a sad moment when I fail to recognize not only the song but the original singer as well. Katharine and Ayla both did what they needed to, which was bring the fun and show some personality, and they did it while reflecting their respective ages well.
Which leads me to my final two: Mandisa and Kellie. Mandisa kicked ten million kinds of booty, but can we get her in a bigger room, now? Her voice is so huge that even on the softer notes she overpowers. Kellie on the other hand needs to be off the competition as far as singing. But she can host with Ryan and then come live with me and entertain me forever. Because Kellie is my grandmother, except younger, cuter, and far less judgemental. I know everyone thinks it's an act. It's not! Believe me, I called my grandmother after Idol last night, and she was giggling over Kellie and how funny she is and oh, by the way, what's a minx? (Although in Grandmother's favor, she at least knew it wasn't a mink.)
