Work is trying to kill me. No, really. The tiredness! Our server is about to be overloaded, so we have to remove 50 G worth of files by the end of the day. (I think it's G. All I know is our server has an enormous memory capacity for 16 people that we were never supposed to get close to filling up, and we've still managed to do it.)

Already my day is golden, because the client from hell, who is a raving bitch (seriously, her imperious attitude pissed my boss off yesterday, and today she's already after me) called demanding to speak to one of two people, and when she was told they weren't available at that moment but he could call her back in a couple of minutes? She threw a fit. Why is it that the clients who pay you the least money for doing ONE project (they're a project by project basis client, not one that we've been working with for 10 years) are the most demanding? It's not even that she wants to get the most for her money. It's that she expects us to drop everything we're doing for other clients for her right that second. Oh, and she hates secretaries.
And now, just having spoken to bossman...we may quit that client. Her uber-bitchy ways have caused several agencies to fire them (I love the "agency fires the client" thing - so funny). Bossman is so pissed after this most recent convo that he's waiting to see if she throws any more hissy fits. If she does, he's going to tell her she's a bitch (really, using that word, which is actually something another agency told her) and that we're not doing any more work for her. Woohoo! I told him I want ringside seats.

American Idol
It's like NASCAR - four contestants from NC, four contestants from California. Hee!
The Women
Becky O'Donohue doesn't stand a chance. Too bad, so sad. Why? Because she's the gorgeous one that has an okay voice that America will not embrace. When I have better choices, I'll go for better choices. Brenna Gethers doesn't stand a chance either because she's annoying and stupid. Annoying with the attitude and stupid because she thinks America actually likes the bad girls. Honey? How many "sweethearts" have won this competition? The closest there's ever been to a bad girl was Fantasia, and she was still fairly nice and had a backstory. Kellie Pickler, Mandisa and Katherine McPhee are shoe ins for the top 12 based on talent and individuality. Paris Bennett is a shoe in because folks are still hoping for that same magic of the Billie Holiday number. Melissa Megee, Stevie Scott, Ayla Brown, Kinnik Sky and Heather Cox could fall into the category of being overlooked due to no screen time or average talent (when compared to the other girls). I can say that Heather Cox can seriously blow. Her downfall is in looking so much like Kellie and being from NC. Lastly, Lisa Tucker is a wild card. I think it depends, but I'm going to guess she'll be in the top 12. She has talent, but she's green.
The Men
Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks are actually the only guys that I think are straight out shoe ins. They have individuality and fan following. I think Gedeon McKinney is in, because he has a unique voice (shades of George Huff to me) that's got an old tinge in it. Will Makar and Kevin Covais will battle it out for the "young" vote (they being the young in quotes), but both could get through because Will is better to me, but Kevin is more memorable. I think David Radford is done for, because he hasn't performed in any way that strikes me as exceptional or different, whereas John Stevens as a crooner was magical. Niche singers in this competition have to be above the standard in their genre. I've found Ace Young growing on me, because while his voice is a wee too boy band for my book, he does have great control and knows how to select a song. I'll be interested to hear him with a band. I'll go ahead and say it now, though I hate to since he went to school with
sullivanlane, but Sway is gone. His personality doesn't spark when compared to some others and my mom has already declared she won't vote for him since he went to bed instead of working on his group sing. (Granted, he forgot his words, which annoys me too.) Bobby Bennett, if he can sing, might make it through because his personality gives him an edge. Elliott Yamin has a voice, but there's something off putting about his appearance that I hope won't make the voters turn from him. Patrick Hall had me loving him a week ago, and I hope he's just as good, but something tells me he'll be an early casualty unless he's one of those that turns electric at the right moment.
This brings me to...
Bucky Covington
*dances in circles*
Back when Idol was in town I cruised the area looking to see any contestants. It's the fun of experiencing it. I only saw one contestant that whole time (well, a few more, but only one memorable one): a tall blond guy with a girl's cowboy hat on and longish curly hair. Definite tinges of redneck. I predicted in that long ago LJ entry that he'd be of the bad group. I am SO happy to have been wrong, as it was Bucky! *squees* THAT is the guy I saw! Him! FYI, he plays in a band on the weekend and is country/rock in what he likes to sing (although mainly country). So we know he'll be able to work with a band, much like Chris and the band will be fine (and a fact that is something of a defining measure to me of their talent at this stage - many get quickly drowned out and don't know what to do). Frankly, I feel honor bond, since I doubted him early on, to vote for him. I have much Bucky love. Plus he's one of the North Carolinians. I also predict he'll be one of the first out. LOL Realistically? He's memorable, but he hasn't had screen time and some that have have "stories" that will compel votes. There's usually only a couple we haven't seen before that get through, and I think Elliott Yamin will be one of those guys.
So basically, the guys I've really been drawn to thus far? Patrick Hall and Bucky Covington? Probably going to get booted early. LOL
