I haven't done one of these in forever, even though I've been tagged. Whoops!

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sullivanlane

Here be the instructions:

Write an LJ entry about 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

1. NASCAR - Yep, I said it. It's my guilty pleasure to beat all guilty pleasures.

2. Raspberry Sorbet - I'm not an ice cream person. I'm really not (unless it's homemade). But sometimes you need something that you eat out of a carton with a spoon, and raspberry sorbet fits that perfectly. I love raspberries anyway, but in frozen form? Yum! And fat free!

3. Coca Cola - I'm addicted to the stuff. Migraines ensue if I try to stop.

4. Ghost Stories - Books, movies, television, if it's ghosty I'll watch/read it. This started last summer and hasn't abated. Believe me. Last night? I dreamed about ghosts.

5. Hershey's Caramel filled Chocolate Nuggets - Oh. My. God. I went through a bag of those in a week around Christmas. I'm not allowed near them until I'm back down to 125, because I gained 5 pounds on them.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid, [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger, [livejournal.com profile] pmgoose, [livejournal.com profile] tourofduty, [livejournal.com profile] otherbella

Yet another reason to love Biffle. Or giggle madly. Take your pick.

Biffle flies dog to vet appointment by helicopter

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Greg Biffle drives hundreds of miles a day for a living during the racing season.

When he's off the clock, he'd prefer to be off the ground.

Biffle, who finished second in NASCAR's Nextel Cup standings last season, flew by helicopter from his home in Mooresville, N.C. to Raleigh so Gracie, one of his boxers, could see a veterinarian at the N.C. State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

A roundtrip would have taken seven hours by car.

Biffle brought his dog to N.C. State at the suggestion of fellow driver Ryan Newman after local vets couldn't figure out why Gracie had been sitting strangely and hobbling a bit after chasing Biffle on his four-wheeler.

School spokesman Dave Green says it's the first time an animal had been flown to the school for a routine exam.

Sour grapes much?

So, according to the Kansas City Star, failure by NASCAR to put the Hall of Fame in Kansas City means they aren't interested in expanding their fanbase to outside of the South?

Bull.

Look, New York City is getting a track. That is a market with a lot of people. There are tracks in California. My brain is too fuzzy to point out all of the tracks that aren't in the South or planned tracks that aren't in the South. What Kansas is failing to note is that of the five contenders, four were southern. Of those four, two specifically have roots in the sport. With those two, one is the home of the headquarters of NASCAR and the other is where almost all the teams are located. And Atlanta proposed the whole idea of a Hall of Fame (and hell, it's Atlanta). The only reason Kansas City was in the bid to begin with was because they were trying to buy their way in and get more races. It wasn't because of any actual historical impact on the sport.

I'll end my grousing on that one now.

Dreams

Weird dreams last night wherein [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid was in the hospital and coming home...and I brought the big tree she was given over to her place to plant. And for some reason, her house (it was a house in the dream) was haunted. Yeah, that was kind of weird, especially as, in the process of looking for information on the ghost, Bubbles found that Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a ghost problem (given his history with the fiery crash and his daddy, he was actually the logical driver to make an appearance in this dream).

And then my mom showed up to wash pictures. But only the pictures in Bubbles' dining room (which, let me tell you, was a whole lotta pictures). I went outside to plant the tree and started unearthing ornaments and pieces of jewelry from the 1920s. Very cool stuff. We figured out that it was connected to the ghost...

And then I woke up thanks to massive itching and had to take a Benadryl at 2 am.

Question:

If a character in a story is a Mary Sue but is wicked, is she still a Mary Sue?

Meaning, if the mischevious mythical entity regularly strips Dean nekkid or makes him lose articles of clothing, is she still a Mary Sue, since I'd totally do that in a heartbeat?

I finally had enough of the itching.

Allergy test Wednesday at 2:30. So far the list I have of things I know I'm allergic to are: chocolate, latex, cats, dogs, pollen. Codeine and some perfumes are possibles (as most doctors refuse to give me codeine since my mother was deathly allergic to it). Shellfish is something I'm not allergic to (my dad is, but I didn't get that one by some miracle).

Now, thanks to work, have to figure out which molds I'm allergic to or if I'm allergic to drywall dust.

All in all this equals one very fun thing - if I'm allergic to anything that's being kicked up at work, I can officially be like my good twin, [livejournal.com profile] sullivanlane, and be allergic to work. Tiaras for everyone!
