I have now seen Brokeback Mountain.

My ability to watch any movie without judging it against BM will be hard. May have to just not watch movies for a while. Everybody has things that they like in a movie to make it good. That movie was nigh on perfect for me. I cried - hard. I never laughed (because the only thing funny was ( spoiler cut )

, at least to me).

I had problems with the audience and the way about half laughed over things that just weren't funny. (Considering a portion of that half were from the local liberal arts college and were standing in a group behind me talking about how all the "folks going to Narnia are going to be shocked by 'those people' having so many here at one time". I refrained from informing that I know plenty of people of straight and gay liberal persuasion who went to see Narnia, thank you, and I bet you there are plenty of conservative folks who'll be seeing Brokeback.) The guys beside me didn't laugh over ( spoiler )

Anyway, loved it. Want to see it again very, very soon.
