I'm irritated. One movie I've been DYING to see, and I'd have to drive to Maryland or Georgia this weekend to see it? Jeez! I want to know if it's because of the content or because it's just a smaller movie. I'm hoping it's just because it's a smaller movie. All y'all who can see Brokeback Mountain, see it many times so they broaden the release schedule (and I'll start harrassing local theaters for it).

***

King Kong opens tonight. I don't know if I should go see it now or wait until this weekend. Yo, [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid, wanna go see a movie?

***

The f-list is being quiet today. Granted, I have work that needs doing instead of the writing I wish I was doing, but still. Perk up people! Talk! *g*

Hi, I'm a geek.

Ryan Smithson mentioned Mike Hogewood (bio near the bottom) in Track Smack. I squealed. And emailed him right quick to tell him how happy I was he mentioned Hogewood.

See, while my family was an ABC/FOX family (meaning we watched WGHP for our news, back when it was ABC and then transferred over to a FOX station), we still thought the best sportscaster by far was on WFMY. Mike Hogewood was THE MAN. Still is.

And um...yeah. That's all. LOL

ETA: I'm going to admit now to liking Smithson best. He's weird, but he responds to email. Love that!

Something I thought about last night in terms of me and guys.

I can count on one hand the number of "crushes" I've ever had that lasted for more than a week and were serious emotional moments in my life. The kind where you really get revved up and the memory sticks years later that that person was special.

Yeah. I've had three of those. One when I was 5. One when I was 14. One when I was 21 on the cusp of 22.

When I realized that, it made a bit of a difference in my mind. I'm good with guys as far as being friends. And I'm good about dating in terms of it takes a lot to make me not want to go out on a second date. And yet I have a hideous dating life.

Those three guys, though, I could talk to them. And that counts for a lot. Fun to hang out with. The friendship is worth it just as much as the crush. (The guy in college was completely not my normal type, either. Quite snarky.)

Comparing them, I see a vague pattern in what I look for, because while the third one was snarky, he still had stuff in common with the others.

But anyway, if the pattern holds true, I'll have another one around 30. If I get another job somewhere. Because I realize that'll play into meeting a new set of people.
