Ah, the interoffice drama.
1. Coworker B had her yearly review from Coworker A(sshole) last night.
2. Coworker A was an ass to her for months on end. Still is.
3. Coworker B is fairly high-strung, had Coworker X (who is no longer with the company but was psychotic) riding her ass for no reason for several months, and had to deal with her alcoholic ex-husband who drunk himself to death this past year.
4. Coworker A actually made her sit in a conference room while he yelled at her one day.
5. Coworker B is 60 years old and knows she couldn't find another job in the industry based on her age if she left this job.
6. Coworker B, after the yelling incident (that I was witness to), reported it to one of the owners.
7. Coworker A got the owners to agree with him that Coworker B was being "disagreeable and moody" this year, and therefore didn't deserve a raise of any sort, because she should be punished.
8. Coworker B works longer hours than Coworker A or any of his prize minions and STILL is settling her ex-husband's estate.
9. Coworker A sits around talking about movies for an hour and then tells account execs he can't do work for them because "he's busy".
10. Coworker B has already run to the bathroom once this morning crying.
11. The owners pride themselves on running a "friendly and family-like" business. (Meaning, there is very little hierarchy and no recourse for dealing with unprofessional behavior, so calling one employee out on behavior deemed unprofessional when others do it constantly should be null and void.)

Can you tell how fun today is so far?
What sucks is, I get that raises should not be expected. In my mind, that's a reward for doing well in the past year. You have to *earn* a raise. Thing is, she works harder than the ones who get the raises, and she's treated like crap...and then they do the confused "but why would she be upset" routine.
This is why I'm supposed to be looking for a new job. I just keep forgetting.
