DVD Buying

Just bought two DVDs: Darkness (because I adore Anna Paquin and [livejournal.com profile] mrbig1316 liked it) and Enemy Mine (because it has Dennis Quaid, Louis Gossett Jr., and is the first sci-fi story I ever read, and to this day my favorite sci-fi story, bar none).

DVD Needing

I have so many DVDs I want to own, but I just never get around to getting them, or I swear I'll go to Edward McKays to see if they have them used.

While You Were Sleeping (obviously from the discussion above)
Switchback
Star Wars: 4-6
Slam
Superman Trilogy
The War of the Worlds (1953) (it's all original baby)
Roman Holiday
The Mask of Zorro (had it on VHS, but it disappeared)
Old Yeller

And of course many other DVDs that won't come to mind right now. *sigh* My brain, she's not working.

Boredom Buster

Thanks to Miss Tall Drink of Water, I'm having a desire to inflict much bizarre pain on [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid and [livejournal.com profile] eliz (since they're, you know, here near me).

Movie Dictator Night

Description a la TDOW:

"A person would host a party and choose two or three movies to show. The audience had no say in the matter, and each film had to be shown in its entirety. No fast forwarding and no leaving the room, even if someone had seen the film before, even if it was stupid or gross, even if it was soul killing."

This has so much potential. Come on! You know you wanna! I'm even thinking of inflicting a mini-version on my sister, brother-in-law and parents (they couldn't do more than one movie in a sitting).

I mentioned the words "yard sale" to my mother and sister, because I have way too much stuff that needs to GO.

Me, I'm thinking next Saturday. Sometime this month, get rid of things, it's all good. Take a week to plan.

I'm being pushed for this Saturday. Ack! It's not like my mother has much to sell. My sister will, but I doubt she'll be prepared this quickly with price tags and cash and whatnot.

Ack ack ack!

Plus we'd have to get up at, like, 4:30 am and...okay, so I've gotten plenty of sleep this week so far. SO it might be better. *sigh*

But still.

I am currently on red-alert level of pissed.

A pervert just called our offices. Like, a literal pervert. The kind that I would kick his ass if I could get hold of him. He called, speaking in a very low voice, asking questions that were merely to get me talking, just...you could TELL what he was doing on the other end. I caught on quick and hung up on his ass, because the way he was asking and talking just weren't the way someone legitimately interested in using our business would speak.

Of course *69 revealed a blocked number. He's a pro. Initially he even had the phone propped under his chin, so that his initial response to me answering the phone was muffled.

I'm icked and mad and just know that anyone who does this...this is a starter. Peeping or something else could come next and the fear of escalation and...Gah!
