Survivor: Massive squeeing ahead )

I'm exceedingly excited about the next Survivor location. Mayan ruins! OMG! Seriously, that will *rock*. I'm going to pimp this one to everyone and their brother. You all have to watch it! Mayan stuff! They're going to force the contestants to live by the Mayan code! *squee*

***

My weekend would have been fantastic except for suckiness from my grandmother. I'll get to that later though.

But I'd just like to ask...you help your grandchild go back to school and get the right degree. As a way of saying thanks, she gives you her diploma. What do you do?

***

Saturday's race was great. I listened to it (so mad I couldn't watch it) and actually shed some tears at the end. I'm so happy that Kasey Kahne finally won a race. And it's a sign when even his competitors are excited for him.

But did you know he's dating Sterling Marlin's daughter? Heh.

***

Got a cute Hawaiin print purse this weekend. Yay new purse! Got out of the car with it this morning and the handle broke. Boo new purse! *sigh*

***

Pimp!

Anna Nalick. You all must buy this CD. It's slightly lighter than Fisher, but great haunting writing music. Her voice is great and the songs really work and have depth.

Got to take the cat out in the stroller. He's taken to going to the stroller and getting in and waiting for humans to walk him.

**This is spoilery by picture only. Don't click the last link if you don't want to see a screencap from the season finale of Smallville.**

[livejournal.com profile] veaglarwen posted a link to a cap from the Smallville finale this morning, and can I just say, seeing it made me think one very, very interesting thing...

In that shot, Allison Mack looked a whole of a lot like Helen Slater (aka Supergirl).

Supergirl 1

Supergirl 2

Chloe Sullivan from the finale

After hunting up the pictures...damn. Okay, if they decide to show Chloe's mom at any point in this series, I vote for Helen Slater to play her mom. Especially given a recent picture of her.

My grandmother is apparently channeling my sister (or vice versa). Let's just say, it's fun to be informed that giving her the diploma you worked hard to earn (and wouldn't have without her monetary support) would result in her just putting it in a drawer, because she has no need for it.

And then, when you start crying (because really, nothing like being told your idea was idiotic), blaming the crying on the grandfather, who had been trying to be *nice* about it all.

I yelled at my grandmother. Told her that Poppaw Max wasn't the one making me mad, that it was her. Explained *why*. She still doesn't get it, and it's been two days.

On the other hand, this may solidify that I am "just as mean as Poppaw Max", which grandmother means as an insult, but given the alternative...hell yeah!

(My grandfather is no saint by any means. But he treats me with more respect than my grandmother does.)

Now I'm wishing for the good old days when all she'd tell me was that I'm nothing without a man.

My skills of rationalization are reaching all time highs.

As of this moment, I could honestly tell you, with much clarity and deducible plot, how Chloe Sullivan could still become Lois Lane in the future. And you would be in awe.

I just figured out that I could also do the same with how Chloe Sullivan could become Supergirl (using the mythos presented by AlMiles).

Huh.

I'm *good*.

ETA: I get on tangents. If for any reason any connection to Supergirl appears in the finale, it's one of those moments where I'm going to sit back and worry that I have a telepathic link to AlMiles (in which case I'm getting my brain scrubbed out with Klorox tainted brillo pads). All talk of Supergirl stems from bizarre email ramblings concerning AM's resemblance to Helen Slater and far-fetched leaps of (questionable) logic.

Work 'sploded.

Stop.

Brain dead.

Stop.

Will try to form coherent thoughts tonight and present my theories for how Chloe could be folks tomorrow morning.

Stop.

*thinks* *ponders*

I should just go with "stop" now, shouldn't I?
