*is suspicious* Who let the floodgates open? More precisely, all these people who are coming in to mom's store today...where did they come from? Most Saturdays the last few months it's been so slow that we've closed a couple of times and the others, we'd be doing good to get in six customers (who total wouldn't spend $100). Today? From the time the store opened until 12 it was packed. Three customers spent $100 each.
These are probably the same people that, if my mom ends up closing the store due to lack of business, will be all shocked because "I went there all the time!" Meaning they came in once a year. *snort*

Books
I was a bad, bad girl at the bookstore last night. In addition to the Hitchhiker's Guide I already bought, as well as War of the Worlds and Moroccan Arabic, I went kind of nuts with an Army Combat Guide, a guide to astronomy, a book on writing science fiction, a book on astronomy as relating to Ancient Egypt (very controversial and more than likely a nice work of fiction, but dude, I'm reading this stuff for fun research), and a big ole giant book on the Mayans.
I am seriously warped. I actually had to make myself stop, especially when having trouble choosing between two different books on the Mayans. I wanted both (by the same authors). And then I saw a book on gulags and thought of
zeplum and nearly bought *that*, until I realized I had about a $100 in books in my hands already.
And I sat and read the last chapter of a book on the Daytona 500 instead of buying it. I was smart. Why buy when the only part you want to read is at the end?
