Due to name confusion, Pope Ratzinger Benedict is herefore to be known as Pope Cliffy I. And we are all going to learn how to order beer in Latin.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] paperbkryter and my dad for the fun Pope/Cheers afternoon.

Due to birthdayness of two weeks ago, I had a gift card for Belk's. My mom, having gotten one for her birthday as well, suggested we have a shopping night last Friday (which coincided with a huge sale...yay!). Due to the whole luck factor, we had money to shop with, a sale to knock down prices, and we couldn't find anything. LOL

(Side note: whoever the buyer is for that store should be shot. All I wanted was a dress, and every single dress was strapless with no boning and no elastic up top. How, pray tell, are those things supposed to stay up on flat-chested me, I ask?)

Anyway, in the process of shopping my mother's purse broke, so she got a new purse. While paying for it, I stepped over to the hat section. I'm a hat person, but lately I haven't been wearing any. It's hard to buy hats when you have a huge head. Well, I went for one particularly floppy hat and spotted a fancy black number with a cute little rhinestone buckle and much attitude. Of course we must try it on.

Tried on...the hat was fabulous. One of those hats where everyone in the vicinity gasps and says "that is so YOU!" So of course I bought it.

Today I wore the hat. Many folks haven't seen me in a hat and were properly amused and respectful. But one of the guys from the building (who doesn't work with me) came in and showed the wrong kind of respect.

Him: Nice hat. Bad hair day?
Me: Nope. Great hat day.

Since NBC is apparently all gung-ho about having Sunday Night NFL games, I'm guessing what that'll do is screw NASCAR. Because god forbid they just let FOX have all of it (or that FOX give up something so they could have all of it).

*sigh*

Yeah, I'm seeing the need to get cable in 2006. Dang networks being ornery.
