I'm using this GIP post to talk about something. Namely, the way I decorate. Really, a GIP and decorating go together, because this icon reflects part of my decorating love.
I'm a sucker for decorating with pop culture. It's sort of a reflection of me, but it's also full of color, which is another part of me. My apartment is very colorful for what I can do with it. The curtains are multi-colored sheers, I have sheers draped over hallway doors, my few signed pictures are framed in colorful frames, my old We Are The World 45 is mounted and framed, there are votives on the wall, and sconces, some Renior prints, a Norman Rockwell print, and my Special Edition Casablanca movie poster is framed and on the wall. I recently acquired some French street sign and a print that has a nightclub singer on it. Very retro. Very fun. (I also have a giant mirror and a 6' Dale Jr. For variety. *G*) My furniture is all Early American Attic, but it's such that there's a lot of charm in it.
Anyway, my big thing about decorating is that I'd *love* to be able to decorate an entire house of my own, each room individually. I'd have a vast living room done very Morrocan. A dining room would be 1950s diner chic. The den would be rock and roll. A computer room would be fannish in nature, with that portion of the pop culture referenced. I want a very Greek/Mediterranean bathroom.
But above all (and the reason I chose this icon), I want a very Indian bedroom.
I've been lusting after various bedroom accoutrements for a while, but they all have one common theme: India. This icon automatically makes me go there. I don't know if it's the sultry nature of it all, the vivid colors, the lush/hot/heavy feel that I associate with those colors (that also go well with the South), but that's what I want.
I also want a big ole giant bed on the floor, no bedframe. Circular preferrably. It's a thing. I don't delve too deeply sometimes.

In other news, my sister forgot to send me the picture of my tattoo. *sigh* I don't know why. She was on the phone with me last night when she was going to send it to me. So, it should be Monday now before it's posted.
