I'm such a damn wuss.
I discovered on Sunday night that in the past month I'd gained 7 pounds. That explained a few things, like 1) the general poochiness I've had going on above and beyond normal poochiness, 2) having a t-shirt be tight in the sleeves that is *never* tight in the sleeves and 3) my new jeans requiring much bouncing and jumping to get into.
So step one was to cut out the unneccesary sugar. *whimper* That means cutting back on the sodas. I am allowed one, at lunchtime. That's it. No more having one first thing at work, just because it helps me wake up. From now on, tons of bottled water. And veggies. No fruit unless it's fresh (I'll wait for farmer's markets to open before doing the fresh fruit thing). Exercise is in order and has been started. And meals will now consist of a meat (fish or fowl) and veggies, or a good spinach salad (which, luckily, I have pigging out on lately), or a pizza (when I get to reward myself for being good with the diet *g*). Portion control, very few sugars, lots of veggies, good-for-you meats and treats to keep me from feeling oppressed by limited meal choices.
Which is partially why I'm trying out a Mexican chili this week that has ground turkey in it. Healthy chili! Whee!
