I'm in the midst of a destressing stage right now. Work is annoying me to no end. But! I have some fun destressing type things that I decided to post about as a fun distraction.

Upcoming Movies
I'm eagerly anticipating a couple of upcoming movies. I find it interesting that of all the summer movies I wanted to see (with the exception of Van Helsing), they're coming out at the same time. (I never did get to Van Helsing though. I decided to wait until it came out on video. Cheaper.)
So tomorrow night I will be heading to The Bourne Supremacy. Dude. Jason Bourne. Matt Damon AS Jason Bourne. I'm so on board with this. It looks exciting and thrilling and entertaining.
And then next weekend it's The Village. Yes, I am an M. Knight whore. And this one has the best trailer I've seen in a while. It teases you, gets you interested, and doesn't tell a thing about the plot. That's the whole point! I don't need to know the ending before I even go to the movie.

Guilty Summer Pleasures
Because it's summer, I've been partaking in a guilty summer pleasure that started in the summer of 2000 (really, it was that recently): reality TV. Of course back then it was the original Survivor. This summer, while I have been ignoring Big Brother and only halfway paying attention to The Amazing Race, I've been glued to Last Comic Standing and Next Action Star.
First, in regards to LCS, I'm pissed. They put the three best comics in a head to head. I'm sorry, but Kathleen? Would have lost. Tammy would have lost. Gary probably would have lost. John is one of those guys that has grown on me. When he's desperate, he's really funny. Corey is just flat out funny all the time (and my favorite), plus he doesn't take the shit seriously (dude laughs at *everything*). And Alonzo...he's my second favorite, because he's cool, calm, collected, and smart/funny. Everybody has their own style. (Granted, the "I'm so funny, I laugh at my own jokes!" style of Tammy and Kathleen doesn't do a thing for me, but...)
On to NAS. Um, it's a guilty viewing pleasure. I'll admit to watching it because of the action factor. These guys are not great actors. Let's all face it. But a couple of weeks ago I really, really got hooked on one of the guys (I had latched on to Corinne from day one as my favorite among the females). John with his glasses on...yummy! And his fear of heights is endearing. It doesn't hurt that John and Corinne work really well together. Personally, I keep hoping that the producers are smart and ditch Melisande first next week, and that they opt for John over Jared (who is a horrible overactor...he started out the series actually emoting, but now he's descended into over the top theatrics - plus he's an ass).

Watched The Birds last night, and can I say...I'm a big fan. I've never seen it before. Actually, I've never watched Alfred Hitchcock before either. It's interesting to watch classics and see how they wouldn't work today and how they could be improved.
One of the things I *really* liked though was the silence. There were periods of time in the movie without any dialogue. Plus they refrained from screaming at every single thing. It was far more subtle than any slightly scary movie of today.
