Last Thursday I was on the phone with my mom about...something. It slips the mind what. But in the course of the discussion, I mentioned that CSI was coming on with two episodes that night (since the Amazing Race was over). This is the one show that mom, dad and I all watch. They actually got me hooked on it.

I made the comment that I was hoping for the episode where Greg gets hurt. Because lots of Greg screentime and actual storyline for him makes me happy. Even if he's hurt.

Because I love my Greg.

Now, I've remarked before that Nick is hot, that Warrick is hot. This is standard because they are hot like hot things. But I think this was the first time I'd said to mom that Greg is the one that I love on that show.

Her response? "Of course he's your favorite. He's your type of guy. He's *perfect* for you."

My mother *does* get me. For once she nailed what my type of guy is. He's my geek guy.

Sudden realization here. Remember a while back I said I'm like a cross between Lorelai Gilmore and John Byers? Is it just me, or would Greg be a cross between the two too?

Explain this to me folks. I walked my rent check down to the apartment office yesterday, and during that walk, which took all of 5 minutes, and managed to get eaten alive by mosquitos in that time period.

Bites on my arms, hands, wrist, neck, stomach, calves, thigh and one on the top of my foot.

I'm very confused about this. Yes, it was right after a rain. Lots of standing water. Tons of mosquitos.

I was wearing tight pants that are ankle lenght with knee-high boots that are fitted. How the hell did the little buggers get *inside* my boot to bite my calves and foot, and inside my pants to get to my thigh? WTF?

Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] canadiian! Woohoo! Hey, celebrate the getting older thing. It's great! It's wonderful! (Something no one ever tells you, but I'll pass on the info, is that no matter how old you get, you always feel the same age as you are now. Seriously. You'll be 43 and still feel like you can't possibly be over 20.)

And because the weekend is nigh, and I'll forget otherwise (cause I'm spacey like that)...Happy Pre-Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] clari_clyde! Have a great birthday, party hard, shake your tailfeather and enjoy life. *g*

I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork. Instead I'm writing Gilmore Girls fanfic.

And damn it, it's hard!

Fastest way to make me mad: Tell me I wouldn't understand something.

Fastest way to make me laugh: Tell me I wouldn't understand something because I'm a girl.

Dude. I'm a girl. I have ovaries. That does not mean there are mental deficiencies that keep me from understand things. I'm quite bright. I'm also quite independent. I'm used to doing things for myself. If I don't know as much as I need to for a given situation, I'll ask someone who *does* know for advice. Then I make my own decision based on educated reasoning.

I also happen to understand mechanics without having taken a course. The stupid test the military had the high school students take (so they'd know what to recruit everyone for) was quite enlightening...I kicked ass in the mechanical section. Hence the fact the Navy kept trying to recruit me to operate a nuclear sub (be very glad I declined that one).

So telling me I wouldn't understand something that is basic car mechanics just makes me laugh. Especially when it's in reference to NASCAR.

Now I want to go take courses in mechanics. Just so I can kick ass.
