Yes, I'm making an appearance, albeit a brief one. I still haven't looked at my Friends list from last Friday afternoon on (although I have snuck over to a couple of LJ's and done some lurking). I just don't have the time at the moment. School started back this week, and apparently my online class is going to kick my ass. Literally. And another class is going to have me in handcuffs. Again, literally.

Why did I think that the summer courses were going to be easier?

Tons of stuff going on in real life, so I will be scarce for a bit. If there's anything interesting going on, please, somebody point it out for me. Just leave me a comment. Or if someone posts something for me to read in their LJ, just drop me a note so I know to go look. I don't want to miss anything, but time is kind of crunched right now.

Plus I'm getting ready to start going through hell. I am in the midst of drinking my last Coke until after the wedding. I don't know how well this is going to go. I'm already panicking a bit.

Like [livejournal.com profile] misswindy, I too am psychic. Didn't know that, did ya? Well, I am making a prediction based on years of experience, much contemplation, and a healthy dose of gut instinct.

(And of course, in case you haven't guessed it, my prediction will hereby be exactly opposite of what actually will transpire.)

On June 7th, Funny Cide, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, will win the Belmont Stakes and be the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown.

My evidence? Since I was a little, little girl, I have been hopelessly drawn to sporting "events". Not just your standard games or races, but true events that are as much about the spectacle as the athlete (in the case of horse racing, the horse is the athlete). I have never failed to watch the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness or the Belmont Stakes. To this day my favorite horse is still Sunday Silence (gah, that horse was so beautiful).

This year, due to bad weather, the Kentucky Derby was preempted. We did get to see the two minute race a bit later in the evening, but without the stories of the horses and the riders, it was hard to be emotionally invested. Then last Saturday I forgot to tape the Preakness while I was at the Winston.

Logic, therefore, dictates that since the Belmont Stakes, the third leg and my last chance to Funny Cide race, is on my sister's wedding day and thereby unwatchable, the horse will undoubtably win.

Mark my words. I predicted it. *g*

Is it sad that I only made it (checks first entry of the day)...5 hours before I caved.

Yes, I'm drinking a Coke. I have no willpower. I'll just start exercising.

Hey, stop laughing!

But seriously. I was already crashing and there's still 4 hours of Constitutional Law tonight. There was no way on Earth I could hold on to my will to survive. It was better to cave now, before the withdrawal headache kicks in.
