How to start out a Monday - by riding side by side (for a couple of miles) with the hauler for SPEED. Uh huh. The SPEED hauler that hauls Hermie's car from track to track!
It's the little things. (Still only slightly less cool than when I saw Dave Blaney's hauler. Or Kyle Petty and Bobby Labonte's haulers.)
And because the day needs something to cheer up for:
(And because after the woe of yesterday's race, I figured
comeawayeasy could use a distraction.)
Really old school commercial featuring Bobby Labonte and Terry Labonte debating who's the better driver.
I find it amusing that Bobby has such CHEEKS. (And I don't mean ass. I mean pinch those puppies, he's almost roly poly.)
And an old Sportscenter commercial featuring Bobby.

There's a scratch here...a dent over here....!
Ha! Bobby did have some cheeks. :P His weight fluctuated quite a bit back then -- due mostly, I guess, to his Grave's. Ah, but he and Terry are so cute!
And the second one...is hilarious, but I can't help but wonder what they paid him to pull off that reaction. I'd love to ask him what he thinks about it now. Lol, I'm willing to bet he goes ballistic behind the scenes, but he's always so in-check in public, you know?
Oh, and riding alongside the SPEED hauler on your way to work? Cool enough. *nods*

I'm not familiar enough with uniforms to know, but I'm betting that second commercial was done after the 2000 season, since it would be notable to use Bobby as he was the champ. (Just like they have one with Jimmie this year.)
There's some visceral thrill at seeing a hauler outside of its normal habitat (a racetrack). It's the coolness of realizing that I live in NC and get to see those things a lot more (should I get off my butt and actually drive anywhere closer to Mooresville).

Then again, I sometimes come across photos of Kasey Kahne that make me do a doubletake, because I'll have a fleeting conviction that it's a photo of Bobby when he was younger. It's...odd. Kahne's the only one it happens with, but I bet it's happened at least 10 times.
Haulers outside their natural habitats...I think the only cooler thing would be to run into, like, Greg Biffle strolling along in Home Depot, or find myself in the next lane over (you know, if I bowled) from Matt Kenseth or something. :P

There's a comedy routine from a fundraiser that Jamie Mac held on YouTube where a guy talks about (hypothetically) running into Greg Biffle buying condoms at Walmart. (The comedian was geeking out over seeing drivers out of their natural habitat.)
