So guess who's finally surfacing? Me!

*falls over*

I've liked having vacation time. I've been getting things done. I've been productive. I'll be working today and then back to vacation time tomorrow (at which point I'll be really delving into spring cleaning the apartment).

So far accomplished on the vacay...

1. Went to race with [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid and [livejournal.com profile] eliz.

2. Got called a Benedict Arnold for wearing a shirt declaring my love Team Red Bull (or was standing in front of Michael Waltrip's trailer, and they were talking about Mikey being the B.A.).

3. Met [livejournal.com profile] roguewords, who experienced the hell that is race tracks and cell phone coverage. (It's almost amusing in a way that I have Verizon and people can call me and all my phone will register is that I have a message...and I can't even listen to it at the track! Argh! I swear, I'd get Nextel, but it's the principle of the thing at this point.)

4. Bought a couch. Isn't it fabulous? I love that couch. It shall be in from the manufacturer in 7-10 days (minus two, as I ordered it 2 days ago). It has piping! In a contrasting color! And it's deep, and it has two cushions instead of three, and my feet don't touch the floor, and I can curl up in it! Which apparently makes me a man. No, really. Women want their feet to touch the floor (apparently most women who furniture shop don't appreciate the fine art of curling up to read? the hell?) and they want the three cushions and they want cushy.

5. Cleaned some. More importantly, made a list of all the things I need to spring clean come this weekend. In preparation for the couch. *g*

6. Stumbled upon a vast conspiracy. Also known as, accidentally saw an email my mom had sent someone about my birthday. Am now officially worried. I was expecting a certain amount of crazy from my mother. My mother may have gone in a scary direction.

7. Dry cleaning is done, film has been taken to be developed (two rolls of film are at least 7 years old).

8. Dealt with extreme reactions to pollen, including a bad cough and headaches. Did you know there are pollen headaches? The news decided to educate us all to this fact. After I had three of them three days in a row. (Incidentally, the weather forecaster was in shock. Bad pollen count is over 50. Yesterday's pollen count was 109. They didn't even know it could go over 100, since 0-100 was the scale. Forecast for the next three days is over 100. Guess who isn't going outside?)

Welcome back! *HUGS*

I wondered why I hadn't gotten any comments on my American Idol post. ;)

Cool couch!! I love curling up on my futon to read, but I also like to have my feet touch the floor when I sit.

*chokes* The pollen count in Atlanta has been near 6,000. At least before the rain. No wonder I've been getting so many headaches lately.

Hee. I thought about trying to read LJ and then realized...I haven't been online since Saturday. No way on earth I'd manage to catch up! LOL

The pollen is insane. They're saying don't go outdoors unless you have to, and then limit it to the evening. I'm even having to clean Chester's paws when we come in from a walk. The pollen is just too nasty.

I've been taking walks in the morning and afternoon, and by the end of it, I'm coughing and sneezing. Ugh. Pollen sucks!

That couch is marvelous!

Pollen? What's that? I may never find out this year as we got 15 inches of snow over the last 24 hours! Grrr...

Hope you feel better soon and good luck with the cleaning!

LOL I think we got all your pollen. Scary part is, I'd rather have the snow.

Couch shopping is definitely fun. And I'm surprisingly good at it. LOL I went in and out of one store in under 2 minutes.

No, you wouldn't. This stuff wasn't the fluffy kind, it was extremely wet and heavy and didn't want to be moved. Luckily, a few warm days days and it'll be all gone again.

That's not surprisingly good, that's totally awesome! I can't even decide on a pair of socks that quickly!

I was lucky on the couch thing - I have specific fabrics I hate (anything nubby or that will pick easily), I didn't want beige or boring colors (the couch will be the only color in the apartment other than wood), and I like structured couches, not the overly cushy ones. So I could go up and down and see every couch (in those stores that offer one color option) and nail what I didn't like quickly.

Now, the next item I'll purchase is a dining room table. That one will be hard, because I like options on that front. LOL All I care about is small and tall.

Yes, nubbly couches are evil and should be destroyed... other than that, I'm open. Guess that's why I can get lost for hours in that section of a store...

LOL! Dining room tables here (we have two) are huge and heavy. Yes, two, one is antique with a folding leaf and easily seats 12. The other is modern, has a folding leaf, easily seats 10 and is being used as the kitchen table. Not bad for a two person household where we typically eat in the living room or at our computers, huh?

i like that couch!!! We need a new one over here. This sectional is working my damned nerves.
POLLEN HEADACHES?!?!?!? No wonder Ive had this stupid headache that wont go away. Matter of fact, thinking back....it started when I first noticed my car was green instead of dark blue. LOL

Hee. I was thinking of you when I was couch shopping, because I saw some couches you'd like. There was one that had a chaise at one end that could detach, plus a club chair. That way you had two seating options.

There were several good deals I saw on couch/loveseat/chair combos. That way you could have plenty of seating and yet it would be easier to arrange than a sectional.

*waves*

I like the couch. And my feet never touch the floor on a good couch. Not if I'm sitting all the way back.

When did y'all manage to get out of the parking lot? We were still there at 9.... Craziness.

See, readers have a better logic than other folks. *nods* (Although I'll give little old women the benefit of the doubt. They can have the couches where their feet touch the floor. It's hard enough to be old, let alone to get lost in a couch.)

We finally had to force our way out around 9. By the time we got to the car there was no getting out the normal way. And it sucked, because we were right at the road. We eventually went through the ditch at the road and risked puncturing a tire (but mostly to get away from the really, really drunk guys that kept hitting on us - dude actually opened with "Excuse me, your model friends were looking for you over there").

OMG. I would've risked a flat too. Ugh. Drunk boys are stupid.
