Fic Challenge - Fairy Princess Style

Stupid bunny. So, some people have already received emails about this, but here's a fic challenge, inspired by one line in Rise Above by Dystopcia.

Hallucinations from rotten apples in Mrs Kent's pie.

And bam, we get "Ooohh, kryptonite laced apples. The havoc it would wreak."

And suddenly I'm thinking Snow White. A fairy tale done Smallville style. Where the fairy princesses aren't so perfect (hell they might in fact be princes) and it's a lot harder to discern who the evil witch is.

So I dare anyone and everyone to come up with their own Smallville version of a fairy tale. Obscure or mainstream. You can be practically verbatim, or use a plot loosely and twist it to meet your characters' needs. Whatever works. Just have fun and screw with their heads.

And coincidentally, my Fairy Tale fic will be Snow White (since it is the one that inspired this madness). And oddly enough, the soundtrack I've mentally got going with it right now is "Die Another Day" by Madonna.

*nods* Twisted would be the appropriate term, correct?

Now to decide on who gets to be Snow White.

You know what's really bad? I just did research for this! I'm a characterization person. Character analysis, anything that's short, sweet and about a character. Plot isn't such a big thing for me because I write in bursts. And research...I'm usually just too lazy.

Of course my research consisted of hunting for various versions of Snow White and the exact lyrics to Die Another Day. But still. There was effort.

Damn. And this considering I really, really wanted to finish my Red fic. Oh well.

Hee. And you're my third person I've suckered in!

I just got finished researching. (high fives Mave the fellow research junkie) I'm going to do Sleeping Beauty. First line of the fairtale:

"There once was a king and queen who could have no children...."

Research rocks! I say, dig the research...

I wanna do Tam Lin (Oh I forbid you, farmboys all, with brown and curling hair, to come or go by Luthor Hall, for Alexander lives there..) and The Snow Queen, which, technically, are the same story... But I'm also tempted by Little Red Cap as well, 'cause the early versions of it are so much mroe fun (in the first version, Red tricks the worlf into killing himself) than the one you get in the last 80 years or so (with the woodsman). Ooooh! And did you all know that in Sleeping Beauty originally she got raped while sleeping, and wakes up to her twins suckling at her breast, not a lover's kiss? Talk about yet Disneyfication there....

And then there's the part where I'm, you know, a freak.
