It's nice to know that among gasoline cars (2007 models), my car ranks third. Score!
How green is your car?
It's disconcerting, though, to see that 14 of the top 15 gasoline cars are foreign. It just proves that American auto manufacturers aren't thinking. But what really gets me is that Ford has the number one green gasoline car...and yet, it doesn't seem like they're making headway on Toyota, etc., anywhere else in the market. I bought my Corolla because of the gas mileage and the fact that it's really durable. (I had someone try to talk me into a Yaris. First year cars are still too experimental. It got a better green rating, but dang it, if I had to fix it more often, it wouldn't work out. Parts getting chunked are still pollution.)
I really want a hybrid as my next car. That'll be when Cactus Jack gives up the ghost (which better be many, many years from know for what he's costing me), which, by that point, I'm betting the hybrids will be even better than now, and hopefully less expensive. Cause unless I get a much higher paying job, I just can't see myself spending that amount of money on a car when I'm trying to save for a home.

Gas Saving Tips
Things I need to work on:
1. Don’t speed. I really could stand to go a wee slower between work and home.
2. Avoid "jack rabbit" starts. I'm horrible about this. I blame genetics. You should see my mother.
3. Anticipate stops. I'm also bad about this, but mainly because the people in my hometown drive like idiots. No, really. You can't anticipate that some idiot is going to slam on brakes because he's turning into a driveway five miles down the road.
4. Keep your tires properly inflated. Yeah...I really don't do that as much as I should.
10. Drive less. I don't have public transportation options, so...not gonna happen.

Huh. I'm not sure why I just went on a green trip there. I suck at keeping up with things myself, but I try to be healthy (for myself and the environment) when I think of it.
