Okay, let's start with the basics - if last year's theme of "Latin Night" was just a thinly veiled excuse to cover all Gloria Estefan songs, and it was an unmitigated disaster, it would behoove you, the contestants, to learn from that mistake and choose anything but a Gloria Estefan song. Unless, of course, you are Blake Lewis. Who understands rhythm, has a penchant for it, and who also has a limited vocal range, thereby meaning he probably would have rocked the Gloria Estefan.
(Let it be noted, my mother and grandmother hate Latin Night because, as my mother put it, "It's not so much about the singing as the performance." Which leads to the important part - how can any of them really and truly be successful if they can't pull off the performance? Then again, I'm of the belief that none of them have been exposed to anyone who isn't Gloria, and even with Gloria they missed the point.)
