Having realized that in the last few weeks that very little has been posted in this journal (being away from the internet does that to a person), the decision was made to do a post. Today. One that has been intended for quite a while. An educational post if you will.
About sepak takraw.
What is sepak takraw, you might ask. (Which makes it obvious that you are wanting a compelling reason to kick on that link.) Sepak takraw is a sport with some obvious similarities, but frankly? It is purely a sport of the awesome. This sport most obviously looks like the strangest hybrid cousin of soccer and volleyball that could ever have been dreamed up. There's a net. And kicking.
Video footage (in slow motion, which is annoying) of some simply amazing acrobatic feats. How they can make their bodies do that and hit a ball is a mystery.
Coming from a volleyball background, yours truly has a lot of respect for this sport. Mainly because doing it would result in great bodily injury and months in a hospital.
(Incidentally, New Year's resolution in regards to this journal: cut back, if not eliminate, usage of the word "I". A certain someone (points at self) uses that word too much. The real creativity will come in trying to get around actually using it.)
