Just call me Lindsay

You know, next time anyone in my family or at work does the "you're too white" spiel, I'm going off, because white is white. I am what I am. My legs glow.

And you know, dying my hair red SHOULD take care of this.

But it doesn't, so I caved for a wedding (since hose are just...ugh) and did the fake tan on the legs. Let it be known - my legs are now bright white with a vague orange glow. Yay! Just what I wanted! To be ORANGE.

Why no one will accept that self tanner and white skin = orange is beyond me.

NASCAR

Am taping the SPEED Pool Party, as the potential for some driver to be shirtless is great. Well, it's a foot deep pool, but still. If one of them goes shirtless, I don't care WHO it is (aside from Kenseth, but he hasn't RSVP'd), there's potential for mockage or drooling.

Also, McMurray's dog looks like him. Jeez! (And acts like him. Hi spastic puppy!)

And more, Sadler has GOT to grow the back of his hair out some. They keep trying to style it for Trackside, and while I've come to terms with the weird anchor hair they get going on top, the back is now too short for them to effectively style, so it just looks weird.

Tony, it would be funnier if you were telling the reporters to go away so you could talk to Greg. Just sayin.

Kyle Petty running over Jimmie Johnson was funny. As was the crew member pushing the car and laughing.

Had pizza for breakfast, am drinking water now, have a Coke and an Almond Snickers for later...and dang it, too many postcards to label and get done by the end of the day so that I can go to a wedding 2 hours away.
Robert Yates fiasco

Ah, the pretty, happy, sweet of the Sadler/Yates breakup is going out the window. On the minus side for Robert Yates, Sadler is part of the media on SPEED. Jeff Hammond already praised him for the mature way he's been handling it all and the way the relationship has been strong between Yates and Sadler and they're keeping that going...

And then yesterday, watching NASCAR Live and reading today's article on NASCAR.com...well, looks like that maturity may be out the window, at least on the other side. (Doug Yates was mature, for the record. Robert seems to be a little bit in the mood to make this all Barbra Walters v. Star Jones Reynolds.)

Seems, in Robert's mind, Jamie McMurray is the "other man". As in, Elliott was perfectly fine racing for Yates and was running well until Jamie's contract issues and the announcement of going to Roush in 2007 (and that Jamie told Elliott the money involved). Which just begs me to ask - so Elliott sabotaged himself? He got distracted by thoughts of more money and it's all his fault? Come ON. In the same article Elliott pointed out that Yates as 6 engineers on staff. SIX. And let's not mention the whole "Let's give Elliott's crew chief to DJ twice a year" deal.

And yet, the mouthiness isn't aimed at DJ. Robert hasn't said a THING about DJ leaving, even if it was contract time. Because besmirch DJ for thinking the same way Elliott was? Oh no. Grrrr.

Not to mention Ernie Irvin's snide comments (never saw the guy race, don't know a thing about him - total knowledge is based on an interview yesterday) about everyone kicking Robert while he's down.

Dear Robert Yates, look. I know you had a moron on board running things. I know you got out of the engine department the last three years (hmmm, look at that math and tell me it's all Elliott's fault). I know your moron wrote a shitty contract that had holes the size of Kansas in it and which let Elliott pretty much make up his mind on anything at any time. Guess what? You're the owner, the responsibility to set things straight falls to you, and if you had been more hands on things wouldn't be in this state. Can it be fixed? Yes. But you've lost your drivers and that is that. Screw you if you blame Elliott for trying to find another ride when it's obvious your organization has been messed up for a while. And I honestly think in a couple of years you can get it turned around, a la Childress. But Elliott is 31, and in this sport that's middle aged. He has to find something solid now to ensure he's around for many more years. He's a solid driver but hasn't achieved superstar, so he has to fight harder.

ETA: And as far as I can tell, since every interview Elliott's given goes the same way, Robert is just giving interviews and saying anything he thinks of. Elliott has consulted someone in PR and is giving the one line and not revealing too much and that's it. And being in the PR field and having that education, Elliott is going to come out on top based on the fact that he isn't "stooping" to someone else's level.
