My dog had a massive panic attack yesterday.
Even typing that statement is surreal, considering. It's a dog. He's got his weirdness and all, but he's a dog. And he had a full fledged panic attack. Believe me, if I'd had puppy Xanax handy, that sucker would have been popped in his mouth. It was over a house fly (I don't know where the fear came from, but he's terrified of the things - usually he just hides in the closet for a few hours). He knocked over furniture, tried to hide in two inches of space behind a fake plant (ficus tree at that), hyperventilated and tried to claw through the front door. With lots of running in circles, wild-eyed. All because the fly dive bombed him.
Needless to say, a 30 minute ride in the car calmed him down. He did, however, then spend the remainder of the evening in the closet.
