Clearly, I have gone off the deep end. Instead of going home last night and wrapping presents, I went to the mall to spend my Christmas bonus from work. I only spent $110 of the $150, and plan on using that $40 toward the week of salads next week (to make up for the pigging out at Friday's lunch).

But what I bought...definitely a weird mix.

1. A book on monsters, appropriately titled "Monsters".

2. Notecards and envelopes (I have no clue WHY).

3. Sports Illustrated, Tony Stewart edition. (Dear Carl Edwards - don't smile, but walk around naked all you'd like.)

6. ( American Idol: The Best And Worst Limited Edition DVD )

. Which I watched a whole lot of last night and cried over Bo. We didn't get to see nearly enough of his personality. He was damn funny. Apparently he and Nikko Smith got to be great friends. And apparently Bo is just slightly insane, as evidenced by him suddenly getting silly and ranting...which includes "I'm black and I'm proud!" and the crew dying laughing.

7. ( William Shakespeare Action Figure )

8. ( And quite possibly the worst, the model kit to make a 1959 Chevy Impala - black )

. I saw it and wanted it. It's an Impala. Yes, my fannish love of a car went overboard.

Um, I've got a silly question.

If I want to make an afghan, do I want to learn how to knit or how to crochet?

(Ask me to make a quilt and I know what I'm doing. Ask me to make an afghan and I'm lost. But it's for a good cause, so I'm going to learn.)

When your bass is cranked up so loud that our front windows and doors are rattling constantly, your bass is too loud. Way too loud.
