This weekend was too long and too short and too busy and not enough was done.

Gah!

Met [livejournal.com profile] tenel and [livejournal.com profile] pmgoose and [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat, and [livejournal.com profile] bubblesbrnaid came home, and [livejournal.com profile] eliz came over for the race, and there was much snarking.

Biffle's Nipples
Jeff Gor-Don: "Life is like a box of chocolates."

And really, sleep deprivation combined with insanely late hours for racing ([livejournal.com profile] terileigh, hee!, I'm sorry for your pain...if I could make the Daytona race track be in the middle of nowhere, I so would) makes for absolute insanity and fun. And everything is funny at 1 am.

There was Firefly watching, which rocked.

On Sunday and Monday there was familiness, which was...eh. I did go by the book store and get a monster anthology of Mythology. Mythology from every culture. *dies* With fabulous color illustrations. And even better, at full price (for 500 pages and hard cover and HUGE) it was $29.95. With my Books-A-Million discount, I got it down to $26 even. Woohoo! Plus I found a book by one of my romance novelists I like. And all in two minutes. I'm good.

Fireworks with family-induced fun in the form of the Four Tops. There were random comments about Luther Vandross being dead (RIP Luther), and then I said something about a Four Top dying, which led to discussion about how many Tops were still alive. (Two Tops are still alive if you're wondering.) Then my BIL pipes up "Before long, they'll be Topless."

My sister did the cussing and flipping off of the idiot rednecks who decided to pull out before the fireworks were over and turn on their brights two feet from our faces. On purpose. Asshats.

Laundry was done (since I was running out of clothes...or at least ones that matched), deep conditioning was done, attempted murder of new neighbors was done (gotta remember...call the office and complain, because I'm not sweeping up ashes, cleaning up beer bottles, or scooping up dirty Kleenex every day), writing research was done, enchiladas were made and discarded (never using that recipe again).

Issues With Fast Food: The Salad

1. I hate when they give me a huge salad that is impossible to eat in a bowl that isn't quite big enough to contain it, let alone toss it with the dressing.

2. I hate the proportion of 99% lettuce to 1% topping. Especially when it's iceburg lettuce. (That ratio is much, much better when it's baby spinach.)

3. I hate those little cherry tomatoes that aren't ripe and impossible to cut. They do not belong in a salad.

4. I hate slices of cucumber. Why can't they just dice them up already? Bite size! Make them bite size!

5. I hate when I forget to ask for a specific dressing and they give me whatever. I thought the predominant American dressing asked for in fast food restaurants was Ranch. Instead, I get Honey Mustard. Let me tell you how many ways I hate Honey Mustard. (And let me tell you, I learned my lesson and won't forget again. *g*)

Music

Got music at lunch. Yay Tarzhay! The beauty of having Allison Krauss, Bo Bice and Leann Rimes (her newest CD has a great song that makes me think of Allison Krauss) at my beck and call just *rocks*.

I really wish there was a way to bond specific icons with specific journal styles. I'm anal in that I would love if I could match the icons to a specific color scheme. My current default icon matches my current color scheme perfectly, but doesn't so much work with, say, a black and white icon.

On the other hand, all of my Stargate icons would work nicely with one color scheme. And my black and white icons would work nicely with one color scheme. I'm just anal retentive.

Anyway.

Made icons last week. For myself. But I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy, and since they're all sans words, if anyone wants to grab one as a base, go for it.
