*yawn*

Bored.

That's what I hate about Christmas. Everything comes to a standstill.

So on that note, things that I love today.

Things That I Love

1. Catching Corin Nemac on CSI: NY. Plus *knowing* that it was Corin Nemac, even when staring at him I couldn't tell it was him (dude, scruffy Corin is hot).

2. Turkey sandwiches.

3. Google.

4. Going Christmas shopping at the last minute...and getting it done in 3 hours.

5. The new glass bottle fad. Nothing better than a Grape Nehi in a glass bottle. Except maybe the Cheerwine in a glass bottle. (The A&W Root Beer though? Eh. I just don't like root beer anymore.)

6. My Kevin Harvick bobblehead. He's so agreeable.

7. The snazzy new portable DVD player sitting in my drawer. Free gifts to the office in duplicate? Great when they don't have a method for you to return the extras.

8. My cuddly dog.

Things I Hate

1. Trying to cut down on Coke (again).

2. The current lack of water. Dang city maintenance.

3. The span of 3 hours without internet.

4. The lack of work or phone calls today.

5. Being all productive and making the fudge for the office party...and making it wrong. (Throws batch in garbage.)

6. Buying tons of tomatoes, only to find not a single one ripe.

7. A cut and green chiles.

8. Cooking your first turkey. Ever. And a 16-pounder at that.

***

I have a request. Seeing as I can now view DVDs (unless the gifting people wake up, at which time I will return the DVD player), I need to go on sci-fi overload. DVD viewing out the wazoo. I do know that my local video store is usually skimpy on the DVDs of TV shows. Blockbuster and I are not talking, so my other option is gone. There's a third store, which I might check out. So what's out on DVD that I should be looking for specifically? (Other than every season of Stargate, obviously.) And if I can't find some of those things, anyone willing to let me borrow?

I haven't recced anything in a long time. And this is something new to me. So...

Gateslacker

I rec every vid on her site. They're Stargate SG-1. Fabulous. Just...really, fabulous.

My deal with fandoms is this: I participate in the discussion based on how in depth I am. Due to syndication being a year behind, I can't participate in Stargate discussion. Love the show. But I'm out of the loop.

I also tend to love fanfic. But for some reason, I have no urge to read Stargate fanfic.

I've never seen a vid until I watched one by [livejournal.com profile] azarsuerte. I don't know why I clicked on the link that day, but I did. I loved hers, so when she pimped the Stargate Video Awards, I went looking. Clicked on a couple. Found Gateslacker.

Her vids made me get up off my keister and send feedback. Feedback is something that pretty much everyone acknowledges we could do more often. This warranted instantaneous feedback.

If you haven't seen her vids before, if you love Stargate, check it out.

My favorite thus far: 100 Years, a Jack and Mini-Jack vid.
