I have a question that's actually related to work (gasp! I work!).

We're working on a web site that's directly aimed at college students. For this site their is supposed to be Flash animation on the intro page and music.

My question is this. Yes, it's aimed at the college crowd, so hip is what's desired. But is music a bad idea? How many people surf the web in their room vs. in the library/computer lab (for on-campus students)? From your experiences, do school computers have updated enough technology to support Flash animation?

Any help would be appreciated folks. I have my own opinions, but I need to present something concrete to a 60 year old man writing this.

ETA: If you all could pimp this out to as many people as possible, that would be great. I'm the youngest person in the office and they often rely on me for information that pertains to younger than my age group, so sometimes I just need help. Help!

Thanks guys for the feedback on the music thing. It's funny, because my 60 year old boss got what I was saying and what y'all said. My 43 year old boss doesn't get it. *g*

Of course I also helped illustrate the point to the 60 year old boss by explaining that the only person I'd trust choosing the music would be his 19 year old son. He got this horrified look and said..."But, he listens to..."

Yeah. But it's the right kind of music for his generation, and that's who we're marketing this too. I then also explained the fact that yes, some music can be gotten that is perfect and a song from an actual band that will become popular, but it's hard. Really hard.

And the Moby's of the world don't come cheap. And I really don't think Moby would work either. *g*

Well, all but one of my WIPs are on my home computer which is kind of...dead. So I offer instead the lone WIP that I posted in progress back in the first season. It's crap. Just warning you.

Veneer of Innocence

In case you're curious as to where it was going...Chloe=Lois story. Swear to god.

Because I'm weird. *g* Yep, that's me. From spring formal in college. You can't see me well, but I'm decked out in full diva regalia: sexy red Rita Hayworth dress, double strand of pearls, matching shoes.

I was the shit that night. I looked better than anyone there. Random strangers even stopped me to admire. And the Miss NC runner up looked like shit in her orange gown.
