Insert "Burn motherfucker burn" here.

I'm exhausted. Absolutely exhausted. I could operate on 6 and 1/2 hours of sleep if it had been continuous. But when that sleep is 4 hours, awake for 2 1/2 while suffering from an adrenaline high, then asleep for 2 1/2 more...

I woke up at 2:30 this morning because of a sound. I was asleep on the couch in the living room (there's a large stack of laundry waiting to be hung up on the bed) and heard...something. As it was the light part of my sleep cycle, it woke me up. My first thought, groggy though it was, that the popping sound sounded oddly like a gun.

But we don't have gunfire in my complex because it's safe.

But then we had the yelling and screaming. "Get out of my house motherfucker" and some variation over and over. For 20 minutes. At which point I got tired of it (because the guy obviously wasn't getting out) and called 911.

I have no trepidation about calling 911. Break the law and I'll call the cops on your butt. Disturb my sleep, you're libel to get more than the cops (I get mean when I get startled awake). About the time the cops got to the building I heard Nello (the guy that lives there) start yelling at the other guy that the cops were here and he better not touch his gun.

Dude. Adrenaline rush. Called 911 again, told them there was a gun (and seriously, you would think they would realize that someone is bound to hear them) and the cops came in pissed. I of course watched through the peep hole. *G* Nello explained away the gun somehow, the other guy was escorted away from the apartment (not arrested, just told to leave) and all was peaceful again at 3:20 am.

Then, 15 minutes later, the other guy came back and started hollering at Nello through the door. These guys were drunk, the other guy was saying he was going to sleep in the hall until Nello gave him his stuff. There was talk (or more precisely screaming) that Nello was the one that fired the gun, not him. Joy of joys. I'm listening to this and getting ready to call 911 *again* when Nello lets the guy into his apartment to get his stuff so he'd leave. Then apparently Nello called the cops on the guy, the cops showed again and escorted the guy away *again*.

And somewhere after that (actually after 5:00, because that's when I finally got to sleep, still on the couch) the guy got arrested AND Nello got arrested. There's a possibility that it actually was a gun shot. The only reason I know Nello got arrested is because I went to tell management about it this morning and the arresting officer showed up to tell them too, because he lives in the complex.

Isolated incidents of drunken gun arguments notwithstanding, I live in a damn great complex
