I hate baseball folks. You have no idea how much I don't like it. It's one of those sports that's interminable, it goes on forever, it bores me to tears...

Go Cubs!

Yeah, shut up. I'm hooked this year. It's because of the "stories" tied to the Cubs and the Red Sox (although I'm more about the Cubs - Karros and Kenny Loftin are my boys in this). I'm a sucker for a sports "story". Just ask my family. By the time the third race in the Triple Crown comes around, I can tell you everything there is to know about the favored horse.

So because of my obsession with baseball right now, I offer up this quote from Jackson from last night's Red Sox game.

The set up: In the 7th, Jackson and Damon (Red Sox) went after a ball and collided. If you see the footage, it was bad. Their skulls knocked, flattening them. Damon was unconscious and had to be taken out on a stretcher (it was later determined he had a concussion). While Damon was being tended to on the field, teammates led Jackson off (whose ears were ringing and who had a slight cut, but was otherwise fine). This is what Jackson had to say about when he was being led away.

"I wanted to see how he was doing, I wanted to hold his hand, I wanted to go back there and tell him little boy stuff like keep your head up," Jackson said. "It was totally scary. This guy is lying there unconscious, this is not the way it's supposed to go down."

It may be wrong, but after that, I seriously wanted to cuddle a baseball player.

As of this moment in time, I have a strong dislike for men. Straight men in particular. Gay men? I love ya. The straight guys who I've friended online through Smallville fandom? You guys are also in the good category (because you like Superman and adore me, thereby making you exceptions to the rule).

But otherwise...I hate straight men.

*glares*

Guys, pick a signal and be honest about it. I don't mind honesty, but be consistent! *thunks head on desk* What's up with "I had a great time!" and paying for lunch (even though I was quite willing for the dutch) and giving me a hug and making sure I had every one of the phone numbers needed...*THEN*, a day later, playing the "look forward to becoming friends" card? WTF is that?

Maybe he just sucks at vocalizing true intentions. I don't know. But right now, I'm not feeling inclined toward anything.
