A morning hodge podge.

First, I must say, the idea of Steve Martin as Perry White does not repulse me. As long as he doesn't get too hyper, that could work. Of course that's only a casting rumor, but still...

One last AI thing.

I forgot to mention this in my last post. And I'm not cutting it, because it's really not related that much to the contestants.

Simon managed to piss me off for once. Seriously piss me off. Mad as hell piss me off.

That crack about Carmen needing to replace the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks?

I don't care who has what views on country music. You can hate it, you can love it. It's a certain flavor that you have to like. Not everyone likes every kind of music. Hell, in every genre of music there are artists that a person likes and a person doesn't like.

But Simon? Carmen sucks ass and doesn't have near the balls to be a Chick. Carmen is country-lite. Natalie Maines rocks. Natalie has an incredible voice (tons of control and power) and ten million times the personality of Carmen.

I know the Chicks are the hot button in music right now. But damn it, we don't watch AI to get petty cracks by half-assed music executives who know nothing and care nothing about a specific singer. Simon was trying for funny and failed. All he managed to do was piss me off.

Part of me being pissed has to do with the fact that Natalie Maines is a big fan of AI and really wanted to be the fourth judge this season. She also loves Simon.

Yeah, I'm Chicks biased. I think they've been given a raw deal in this whole debacle of a "scandal" because of the fact that they're supposedly not allowed to have political views or voice them in a public forum because that would piss of their fans.

ETA: If you violently dislike the Chicks, please do not bother to respond to this post. As you can tell from my rather heated tone in this post, I'm a Chicks supporter - no matter what they said. So it's pointless to try and say anything as it would not change my mind. Thank you.

And by the way...

If for any reason anyone wanted to make me an icon of Ruben that says "Velvet Teddy Bear", I wouldn't be violently opposed to it.

Just so ya know.
