I'm thinking death would be enjoyable right now. Very enjoyable. Blissful even.
We are in the process of getting ready for several Mailings Of Death.
Right now I'm in the midst of mailing out 343 CDs. I'm in charge of the lists, of labeling and packaging and postage. Another coworker is labeling the disks, inserting them in jewel cases and sealing. Oh, and there are personalized notes on each and every CD.
And that's one of the smaller mailings. Remember, I'm answering the phone, typing for people, proofing various documents, and playing around online at the same time (*g* gotta have some distractions from hell).
We've got a similar mailing coming up in another month or two. And a mailing of about 325 that will be easier coming up in April. And in the midst of all of this, we have a mailing for a client.
500 packages.
Sent by Priority Mail.
*whimper*
This means we have to wrap each press kit in bubble wrap, insert it in each box, seal the boxes (which are flat dammit and will therefore have to be assembled), put the mailing label on, the return label on, run the postage, then put the postage on. 500 times.
The fun part is where the person in charge thinks this can be done by two people in about 3 days.
I would laugh too if I wasn't ready to cry. The woman who'll be working on it with me does three jobs here. I do two. It's funny, because between two people, we have five titles (maybe actually six, since I'm Receptionist AND Administrative Assistant) and we do the work of those five. Well, except for my PR stuff. I haven't done anything PR related in months.
And...NOOOOO!!!
*whimper*
I was just informed that the number of packages has gone up to 700.
Please? Death?
