This one made me laugh, even if it is just Wimmer tagging Harvick's ass.

Menard! (For some reason I like him. Truex I could care less, but Menard?)

Which leads to my babycakes.

His facial hair makes me giggle.

Rookiefest 2006

For some reason I find this picture disturbing.

Scruffy Biff.

Zee Biff, all tanned and blue eyed with teh arms. Pardon while I go find a private area.

I so want to know what they're discussing.

Stewart ass. (Any time I can find an ass shot of a driver, be assured, if I care in any way about that driver, or know anyone who does, I will post it. *g*)

My first NASCAR driver.

So cute! So young! I squish!

First, gray is the worst color EVER for a firesuit if not paired with black and Goodwrench. Second, did they make it for Tony and hand it to JJ?

Borland!

The young, adorable and clueless club.

Best. Picture. Ever. Seriously. I'm taking guesses on what they're measuring, and as to why Schrader's is bigger.

Kahne tries to convince everyone he is evil. No one is buying it.

Anyone else thinking "mad scientist"?

Hot Kenseth picture, ahoy!

King is totally freaked out -- I might have to find another buddy to go w/ me. He busted his tympanic membranes years ago, and he's always freaked by things that are SUPER loud. But, we'll see!

Also, what is up w/ people with scanners and everything? Is that par for the course, or do only diehard fans do that?

For King...yeah, it might be a bit loud. If he had headphones that covered his ears AND earplugs that might help him enough to enjoy it.

Scanners/headsets are something I only recently got a clue about. (Which means I need to buy a set at some point as I do go to at least a race a year.) I've been to races without, and they're enjoyable, but when something happens, it's nice to know what's going on. Some folks do scanners to hear what's going on with pit crews. There's also headsets that play radio stations, and since the race is usually on the radio, that makes it *really* helpful in knowing what's going on. They can also be rented at the track.

Oooh! So if I have a radio headset, that would work? I have a noise-cancelling headset for school, so I am totally bring that! And the pit crews are on unsecured bands? For reals?

[identity profile] maveness.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It would. The big key is if you have anything that covers the ears, that'll help King out for sure. Radio headsets are awesome for races.

Yep, the pit crews will be on various channels. There are a select few that refuse to allow the television channels to air their audio, but they can be heard by the fans. The language is VERY salty. LOL

Hee! I heard that Tony was cursing a blue streak when he hit the garage at the Father's Day race -- I was reading some of the NASCAR blogs on the Fox sports site. I am so lame! LOL

I am going to have to find another pair for Jesse and make sure they fully cover the ears. That way we can be total dorks together!
