This qualifies for Chloe's Wall of Weird.

Wait! It's a ... : Unidentified creature stumps experts

This...animal is really interesting looking. The local zoo (and no making cracks on NC zoos, regardless of the fact they put Richard Petty and his son Kyle on the billboards - they're actually quite diverse and huge, because we have land as opposed to big city zoos) was even stumped.

Besides, this is the second time in recent months there's been an animal that stumped the experts.

Darn it. Scott Patterson has a tattoo on his arm. On the bicep.

I'm guessing the reason I never knew this was because as Luke Danes, he always wears those flannel shirts. The biceps are covered.

This tattoo though has me intrigued. Tis hot I tell you. Hot.

Check it out

If you click on Luke's picture you can see it better. But...tattoo. Which is good, because it keeps the emphasis off his hair and the fact that I seriously wish he'd put back on the baseball cap.

In honor of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday...

"And down the stretch they come!"

***

I have accidentally created my Happy Tape at home, which has the Preakness followed by Gilmore Girls' season finale, followed by the American Idol finale.

All that happy, back to back to back.

"Here comes Rock Hard Ten, uncoiling that massive stride of his!" Only to be followed by Smarty running away with the race.

"What are you doing?"
"Would you just stand still?"
*sigh* Happy places.

"And the winner is..." That always elicits happy thoughts, no matter what show it is.

I have a question for all those that reguarly read/enjoy RPS or RPF.

Why do you read it, and what types of stories do you like?

I'm curious from the standpoint of someone who doesn't really care one way or the other about RPS or RPF except in regards to NASCAR, and only one pairing at that (and dang it, it appears I'm the only person on the planet that even gets the Kimmie, outside of my converts).

My couple of instances of RPS have been tounge in cheek because I'm making fun of what the commercials give us about a really masculine sport (Jeff Gordon aside *g*). I looked over an archive of NASCAR fanfic, and I just can't fathom how those writing it can take themselves seriously and write long involved angsty fics. (We won't get into incredibly implausible slash pairings, because...no.) The funny buddy ones...I get that.

But for other fandoms (Popslash, Lotrips, etc.), what is the overwhelming bent? What is the predominant writing style, type of story, etc.? Am I nuts for shunning the overly dramatic stuff? Or just dabbling in something that I don't have the guts to do hardcore?
