Supernatural
Well, proving that I apparently am Grimm Geek Girl...
I sat down and reread all of the Grimm tales highlighted in last night's episode. (Other than 3 little pigs, which, while visually fun because it's easy to do the three brothers angle and house building, it is not a Grimm tale.) There were so many opportunities for fun. Grimm tales do tend to make the stepmother evil, but they also make the father weak willed and susceptible to remarrying and practically forgetting his own daughter exists. Hansel and Grethel, Snow White and Cinderella all have that theme (H&G more than Snow White). Also you have a touch of necrophilia in Snow White that's kind of creepy. (But that's the prince.)
All in all, they had a lot of potential to work with and didn't. They hit highlights and actually still managed to Disneyfy them (Cinderella still doesn't have mice or a pumpkin - it has a giant tree and doves).
Proving that this ep could have made me really, really happy, but odds were it would disappoint. I nitpick on the Grimm stuff too much. I know they probably were limited on the Cinderella story with regards to how they'd get the boys to notice the house and get inside to Cindy, but I can't help but feel like they went with the obvious in order to appeal to the masses instead of going more obscure with the tales (or getting a freaking copy and reading from it) in order to really pack an emotional and scary punch.

Ugly Betty
I'll admit to being one of the few people that adores Daniel. I adore Daniel hanging out with Betty. I adore Daniel and Betty against the world. I don't like Daniel when he's majorly sabotaging himself, but I like when he's trying to do his best and Betty prods him to find a better way than what he's used to (which is, whoring himself out).
So tonight I admit to wanting to smack Hilda upside the head (and Betty) and high five Daniel. Yes, they can have a five month relationship and possibly put the feelings to bed or get some closure. Hell, in this day and age (and considering what Charlie freaking did to begin with), they could have a relationship that lasts more than five months. I know it would be hard, but couldn't Betty's family move to Tucson with her? (I accept that she is the bread winner. They'd want her to move, but she'd feel duty bound to stay. And leaving home would be really, really hard. But there's a balance.) The biggest problem I can see is that Charlie might be a royal bitch if Betty were involved in Henry's life and THAT isn't good for the child. She's already horribly manipulative. The lengths she'd go to would be bad. (Also, I believe Daniel would help her out finding a job.)
So that's why I'm down with Daniel. If you're going to end it, just end it. The romantic notion of living in the moment and enjoying the time you have is nice and all, but what if in her pursuit of that moment she misses out on someone else? (And no, not Gio. I don't like Gio. I'm not going to like Gio. The fact is, Gio is Jess from Gilmore Girls for me, and I hated Jess.)

Same here! I thought it was just me being a freak. But there are so many dads in fairy tales who have serious incest things going on. Come on SPN WORK WITH ME.
So, Rapunzel. I like it but. It's also creepy. WIth the eyes getting scratched out, and her having kids and uh yeah.
