NASCAR
My thoughts on yesterday's race:
1. YAY THE SQUISH! Go Vickers!
2. I am an unapologetic Junior fan (meaning I don't apologize for loving the boy, flaws and all). I want to beat the Dega fans silly. On one hand, I'd like to go as a Junior fan for the fun of all the times he takes the lead and the fans go nuts. On the other, for god's sake, any time he's close to contending for the win and doesn't, those fans act like butts. There are lots of sane Junior fans out there. We should form a club and refuse to act like the ones that throw things, scream "BULLSHIT" en masse and threaten to harm another driver. I can understand being pissed and not liking Vickers or Johnson, but throwing and screaming and threats? Juvenile and stupid.
3. Jimmie and Chad need to get over themselves, and now. Jimmie's on my shit list (and Chad would be doing good to get only spit in the face for the vitriol he spewed - jeez Louise, he's worse than Jeff Gordon when it comes to bad mouthing Vickers). Sticker will NOT be going on my car anytime in the near future. Racing accidents happen. That same situation happened in a Busch race many races back, except the perpetrator was Junior and the punted one was Carl Edwards. Carl overreacted as well (and who knows, Jimmie may get over it and apologize to Vickers for being an ass when Vickers was contrite). It's a regretable way to win, but it's still a win.
4. Vickers said "Hell yeah!" Hee.
5. I want to cuddle McMurray.
6. Gilliland got the pole! Woohoo!

And yeah, I just went off about that, sorry. Hee. But the "hell yeah!" and the aw. I love him so, I really do. I just... it always gets to me when the fans boo Tony, but I can laugh that off, because I know he doesn't give a shit and it doesn't bother him. But Brian? He's... that's a sensitive kid, and you know those boos, and especially the "bullshit!" chants, were probably getting to him and getting under his skin. He's just a kid, really, and he's had his first win in the Cup series tarnished, by asshole fans and asshole teammates.
*siiiiigh* I just want to give the kid a hug. Or get him a new boyfriend to get him a hug. I swear, Tony can keep Greg around and act like a complete dick, but I can't find one person for sweet, adorable little Brian. What is the world coming to?
And I do believe I've left you a novel of a comment, so I'll shut up now!

Lol, you seem to reason like me. I guess I just feel like I can be happy with a win and happy with the circumstances, unhappy with a win and unhappy with the circumstances, or any combination thereof. Typically I think what determines whether I'm happy with the win itself is based mostly on emotion, and what determines whether I'm happy with the circumstances is reason. It seems a lot of people don't let reason come into play at all over these things, though--as was obviously the case yesterday.
