A New Kind of Twin: "This confirms that two sperm can get into an egg."

Semi-identical twins, or triploids, result from two sperm fertilizing one egg. Each child (accounting for about 1% of all twin pregnancies) has the same biological makeup from the mother's side, but differing biological makeup from the father's side.
