One has to have a man come change a flat tire.
This is according to a five minute lecture last night (thanks to me asking for a tire iron instead of a lug wrench for Christmas) from my grandmother. Because a lug wrench...why do I need a lug wrench? Never mind that I don't have one.
See, my grandfather figured out I'd asked for the wrong thing. The phone call was made to verify what I did need. Somehow my grandmother got to wondering why I needed a lug wrench. I pointed out that I have AAA, but if they're going to be 2 hours, I'll just change it myself instead of waiting. It's a tire. Give me my moments of pretending to be the over the wall guy on Kasey Kahne's pit crew, okay?
She starts with how, if I get a flat tire, I need to call my dad to come change it. Um, I am NOT having dad get off work to change a tire for me. What the hell? She follows that up with "Don't you have any male friends to change it?" Oh my god. Five minutes of "The world is dangerous!" "You are a girl!" "Men should do that!" *headdesk*
I finished it up with "I don't NEED a man to take care of me." And a promise to call the cops should I ever get a flat (like hell am I calling the cops - the woman is nuts).

On a lighter note, the NASCAR Slash Generator is amusing me. Paul Menard/Jeremy Mayfield? Brian Vickers/Dale Jarrett? Brian Vickers/Matt Kenseth? Okay, why does it keep giving me Vickers? It knows that the kid is starting to grow on me, doesn't it. *screams* Ricky Rudd/Doug Richert! Hee! Crap. My eyes! (Bobby Labonte/Jeff Hammond) Wait, I just got the best one yet...Ryan Newman/Robby Gordon. Hee!
*squeals* Dale Earnhardt Jr./Kenny Wallace!

What the hell, NASCAR?
So Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler are in trouble with NASCAR because they didn't go to the awards banquet.
Since when is it school and you get a failing grade for not showing up to the graduation ceremony?
Okay, so Jeff finished 11th and didn't show. Will Ferrell was funny. Jeff is preparing for a race in which he's representing the United States. I would think his ambassadorship on behalf of the sport would count for something.
Okay, so Junior was the Most Popular Driver and didn't show. He's been to every ceremony since he got into Cup racing. This year he was *way* out of the running. If he picked a year to not show, isn't this a good one? Especially since they don't actually give out the Most Popular award at the banquet? (Or didn't this year.)
Okay, so Kasey Kahne and Ellyut didn't show. *crickets chirp* I'm still trying to figure out the big deal on that one. Why is it a big deal? Oh, but NASCAR sure feels like some contingency awards they got (what?) should be taken back and given to the next guy in line. The hell!
Dear NASCAR - if you want the awards ceremony to be mandatory, tell them ahead of time. Don't get pissed if they don't show because they're shooting deer. And don't threaten to take away their prizes and give it to someone else because they didn't play your game. By that logic Jamie McMurray should be getting the 11th place money, Jeff Gordon...oh wait, who was third? should get the Most Popular award, Tony Stewart would get the money for Hairiest Driver On Race Day and Brian Vickers would have gotten Prettiest Driver Who Looks 12.

The NASCAR 2007 TV Deal Finalized
I read the info. Pretty much the only thing I could figure out from all the gobbledy-gook...in 2007 I have to have cable. (Heck, at this point I'm so fanatical that I'll probably be getting cable in January.)

Okay, I need everyone with a knowledge of possession (like by ghosts or demons or anything that might do some possessing) in any religion to step forth, cause LiveJournal and my f-list have gone nutso.
The last entry I'm showing on my f-list ismedie's, but there are the words "Post Comment" right above her entry. The layout is messed up on my f-list as well. Going to "My LJ" only takes me...to my f-list yet again, looking exactly the same. There are posts to my f-list, including one of my own, but there's some glitch and it's not updating and the formatting is off...
I don't know if it's whoever's post is just after Medie's that has some wonky code, or if my LJ has gone haywire, or if LJ in general is having another mood swing. Dang it!
