The show must go on...
There is something seriously wrong when Diana is the best one. Seriously.
Simon's analogy, that John and Latin music went together like chocolate ice cream and onions, scarily that fit for all of them. Diana was the best one, but her syncopated rhythm needed some work.
Overall I was disappointed. Here's praying for something better next week. Where's Big Band when you need it?
Voting was funny though. I called my mother and reminded her to vote for Latoya. I was taking Fantasia for myself since I'm the seasoned vet. We were going to encourage my sister to vote for George and my grandmother to spread the love to all three. No word from K and Gran, but my mom? Got into it. She has decided that while she personally would sign Latoya, Fantasia is more to her liking, so she argued with me about who she was voting for. She wanted to vote for both, but primarily Fantasia. She even said that she was willing to sacrifice George in favor of the girls. Between the giggling over her rabid nature (and she calls me weird for fannish love), I pointed out that we have enough people capable of voting to support all of them.
What mom *did* was even funnier. I called her about 9:30 to see if they'd gotten through yet. At that point I'd failed to connect even once. Turns out mom was on the cell phone, voting for Latoya, and she had dad on the land line voting for Fantasia.
My family makes me giggle.
Total time spent voting: Dad 1 hour, Mom 1 hour, Me 2 hours.
Total votes cast: Dad 8 for Fantasia, Mom 3 for Latoya, Me 2 for Fantasia.
Four hours total of dialing, and we got in 13 votes.
